What Our Community Is Saying

My choral journey began at age six, sparked by the joy of blending my voice with others. Over time, I was naturally drawn to the unique power and resonance of the male chorus. There’s a special depth, camaraderie, and sonic richness in male voices that I find deeply compelling. Today, I’m proud to sing with the Orpheus Male Chorus of Phoenix—an ensemble that brings that richness to life. Performing with such a dedicated group feels like a natural and fulfilling next chapter in my lifelong love of choral music.

I thought I had a pretty good idea of how my retirement would unfold—but I never expected it would include singing in over 100 concerts with an organization like the Orpheus Male Chorus of Phoenix. I’ve often described hearing Orpheus as an emotional musical experience. That’s not just true for the audience—it’s true for us as singers, too. The music we make, combined with the deep friendships I’ve built, is what makes Orpheus so special. It’s what has kept me coming back for more than 14 years.

Music has always been a part of my life, and I’m so grateful to be a member of the Orpheus Men’s Chorus. They’ve been incredibly flexible with my university and work schedules, giving me the opportunity to incorporate performance into my free time. I can’t wait to sing with Orpheus on our summer 2026 tour of the Baltics! I was initially nervous about returning to choir after being out of practice for a while, but I couldn’t recommend this group more—especially for those looking to rediscover their voices and build a strong, consistent vocal foundation.
