Voice In Chorus
How long have you been with Orpheus?
I have been singing with Orpheus since the Spring of 2014.
What made you want to join a chorus group?
I have been singing in choirs since joining the Phoenix Boys Choir in the fourth grade. I have sung in choirs throughout high school and college. Orpheus provides me the opportunity to enjoy the unique music available for a men’s chorus. The sound produced by a men’s chorus of nearly 100 voices is truly unique.
During your time at Orpheus, what has been your favorite song or performance?
My favorite performance was when Orpheus was chose to perform for the American Choral Directors Association if Pasadena, CA. We gave a fantastic performance, which was well received by a knowledgeable audience. Additionally, we performed with renowned composer Morten Lauridsen accompanying us on a piece he composed. One of my favorite songs Orpheus has performed is ‘O Magnum Mysterium’, also composed by Lauridsen.
What are your favorite hobbies outside of Orpheus?
Outside of Orpheus I enjoy golfing, swimming, going to the movies, volunteering, and doing anything with my friends and family.
What is your current job or career you've retired from?
I am currently a civil engineer for The City of Phoenix.
If you could perform next to any singer/artist in history (Dead or alive) who would you choose and what song would you choose to sing with them?
If I could go back in time, I’d love to sing with Frank Sinatra and sing ‘The Best is Yet to Come’
What has been your favorite part of being with Orpheus thus far?
My favorite part of being with Orpheus is making so many friends. A chorus only works when the groups is unified and work well together. Everyone is friendly and interested in making our group successful. The friendship and camaraderie is unique and my favorite part about being with Orpheus.
